    Eyes

    eyes are filled with wonder
    glimmers in the light
    full of joy
    such a beautiful sight

    some eyes are blue
    and some are green
    Brown is a common color
    everyone has seen

    you can see emotion
    happiness and sad
    by a persons' eyes
    you can see the rough night they had

    When I look in your eyes
    love is all i see
    I lose myself in them
    we were meant to be

    Lately i have noticed
    a dullness that has shown
    you seem depressed and lonely
    your eyes have made it known

    Your eyes are slowly dying
    of joyness and of pride
    when i saw this in your eyes
    I looked away and cried

    So maybe if you're lonely
    with having me around
    maybe you should go
    and leave me on the ground

    I want your eyes to glimmer
    I want your eyes to shine
    I want you to be happy
    even if you're not mine

    The ending stanza seemed quite selfless, and I think it's refreshing to see where someone else might have written, "I want you to be mine" Lovely. ShadowStealer

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
