    Poem Commentary

RIPPED FROM THE PAGES OF MY JOURNAL

    "SEVEN"

On May seven I came to be

On the seventh day God rested and then created me

When God made me he was just showin’ off

A perfect specimen of a man, nothin’ about me is soft

Before I was formed I was told

“You will be a well bred man before you get old”

To this day I hold my head up high

Even though life hands me a lemon at times; I'll never sigh

I’d add water and sugar and make some lemon-aid

Back then I had my own stand and got paid

There is an angel missin’ in Heaven

He came to Earth and named himself "Seven"

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
