    The Dark Light

     The Dark Light

    All alone in the day

    in the midst of the crowd.

    He goes walking by, 

    following his own shadow.

    The night rolls in,

    he looks out from his window.

    His silent thoughts

    speaking perfectly loud.

    The smile on his face

    hides the internal frown.

    His mind goes drifting by,

    following his dark shadow.

    The cold air rolls in,

    he looks up from the gallows.

    His tortured thoughts

    holding up a thorny crown.
