    What I Need

    I don't want you to "be there" for me.
    I need you to be there in my heart.

    I don't want you to kiss the ground I walk on.
    I need you to kiss the sky I dream on.

    I don't want you to hear what I'm saying.
    I need you to listen to what I am saying

    I don't want a beautiful relationship.
    I need a beautiful life with you.

    I don't want memories that last a lifetime.
    I need to share a life with you one day at a time.

    I don't want you to tell me I'm your "soul mate".
    I need you to tell me we share the same soul.

    I don't want you here in a heartbeat
    I need us to share the same heartbeat.

    I don't want us to spend time together.
    I need us to invest time together.

    I don't want you to be a friend.
    I need you to love me.

    I don't want you to be someone else.
    I need you to be you.

    I don't want someone else.
    I need you, and only you.

    I don't want you to believe it will happen.
    I need you to believe in us.
