Let the Water Take Me

Let the Water Take Me

Let the world end with whispers,
little wispy strands
of lives lost
and new ones begun.
 Let me fall
into the water
let me swim amongst the fish
a lost soul
finding solace in the sea.
Let the waves wash over me
crashing down on my back.
Let me be free.
Let my hair fan out behind me,
my legs kick gracefully.
Let the water envelope me
let it take me.
Let it take me in,
I welcome it.
Let it.
Let it take me .

I love this poem. It's so simple and fluent, it sounds like water itself. Have you ever heard the song "into the ocean" by blue october? It has a similar idea. This poem completely tells how I feel right now.

This has a song type quality to it. I could almost hear someone like Anouk or Nora Jones singing it.

yeah, i did think about a kinda of floaty quality to it. thanks :)

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
