    Losing My Best Friend

Gleaming lights of desperation giving way to hate.
Smothering years of hope and peace just to tempt our fate
Deception and lies all bundled in the past we sought
Yet not understanding the feelings that were brought
Holding fast to each direction that to us life had tossed
Thinking back it was the arrogance we should have lost
Now standing in the threshhold of what's yet to come
To our our hearts are open but our mouth's are numb

I remember feeling like this when my best friend finally died to cancer. It was so hard to put it to words but you did a great job to describe the hurt and disapointment people can feel!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
