Poem Commentary

In repsonse to a request for a recipe of my cooking pictures I posted on my FB from my muse Judy McNutt > F Paul Fuhr

"Cooking...is not Looking for Recipes"

Oh my God where are all those damn recipes?
there all in my head I don't see the necessity
but Judy McNutt would have me post one for sure
determine size and measurements? I must endure

A dash of this a splash of that...
who can measure with hands so fat
I see food with my eyes and vision creativity
pure love of cooking is what it made-ev-me

A chef, fear no I can't claim the name
taste, pure taste is the name of my game
A ten inch sauté pan, Wolfgang's meat mallet
all these utensils just entice my pallet

We eat with our eyes and too with our nose
monochromatic delivery? what do you suppose
or bright reds and greens spices and herbs
that’s the difference from bland to superb

So be cooking with Love share not a pout
What you put in your food your friends get out
Cook with love you'll guarantee success
it's those you feed that you love the best

A boring dish is such a bummer
I'd rather here my kids say So Yummer'
With spices and herbs let's garnish that dish
and you'll hear the response "My how delish"

So forget all your failures and consternation
Cooking a "Journey of Love" not a destination
Cook with Love and all the worlds your oyster
and while you're at it shuck a dozen for me sir!

A great philosophy about the wonders of great cooking! You have captured the idea well. Anyone can cook by following a recipe, but only the creations made with love are those that the family enjoys! My son baked some patries just last night and missed a few items from the recipe :)) and I truly enjoyed them better than if they came from " La Madeleine" :)) Thank you! Great Job!
