Recycling

Recycling, recycling what a pain in the ass...
Separating, separating cans paper and glass
Lest we should forget that plastic ferment
It’ll be here for years
Eons longer than we bent

I look to my neighbors to see their sincere
But alas their negation just creates a tear
Try as I might more by example than fight
I attend my duty in spite of respite.

To stack my refuse on my curb with care
Hoping they will see and soon repair
Their agnostic belief and disparate approach
But recycling material is an important broach
To save the planet... we all must do our best
lest we should fail their always the roach

Eliminate, reduce, re-use, and recycle at best
So do your duty for all of us ... and the rest
Our children will inherit this mess that’s been made
Will they lie under trees or non-composable shade?

it seems you have something - maybe we all should read your poem and act on it - it couldn't hurt - nice

Goinwest. West keeps on going. I love your poem. Great poem. Great message. So nice choice of words. Theme is indeed the need of the times. You made me feel proud of your caring attitude.

Thanks Ross: I've dedicated these later years to Green Building iniatives with Skanska, USA. Besides the New Meadowlands Giant Stadium, Madison Square Garden and the UN in building in NYC we just completed a renovation at the Brooklyn Childrens Museum: http://www.brooklynkids.org/index.php/whoweare/thegreenmuseu

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
