Fishing excursion a golf sandwich diversion
Tee'd it up on Friday in rain and wind
stayed dried enough for par to defend
Then slept soundly as in a baby's membrane
to sea on the morrow now fishing the game
Far off to deep water off NJ Sandy Hook
poles in the water for sea bass to cook
Caught more than 80 but did not wish to slaughter
releasing all the adolescent sons and daughters
But 12 hit the deck for keeper’s absolute plumper’s
then chased home by storm with lightning thumpers
Then once safe to shore still a great catch to share
hungry sailors good cooks planned a succulent fare
Celebrating the victory and recent survival
this brotherhood shared a banquet to rival
The picture is posted no pending disaster
no Last Supper, again one we can master
But early to bed if we seek birdies to arise
a final golf outing wins the weekend prize
It's not win or lose but how played the game
just comradelier shared the love is the same
So let’s prepare another wonderful sandwich
again to share another youthful man-which
