    "Dentist the Menace"

    "Dentist the Menace"

I'm off to the dentist but I'm not too sure
with an abscessed molar they claim to cure

Oh... the sound of that whining drill
and nova caine it gives not a thrill

"This'll numb your gums in just an instant"
but I still complain and remain insistent

A child of the 60's I'm drug resistant
"so shoot me up more" I stay persistent

The first session is done they send me away
to return again and be treated another day

    With thoughful pre-planning,
    they gave me a prescription
so I would return in a better disposition

The treatment went well or so they would tell
I was joking... laughing and singing as well

"Oh thank God" my dentist did grin
"he's easy to handle when the valium kicks in"

With routine visits, not time of desperation
They pre-order my script with ample medication

Now I look forward to the dentist’s chair
I'm high and I'm legal and without a care

    So don't fight the dentist
    they aren't a menace
    just your preventist

As you leave their chair each day
People will admire your teeth and say
"My... how'd they get that way?"

    With a grin
    you'll begin
    "I Bon't doe dut I bidn't deel a bing"

Ha ha ha! A wonderfully-written poem. You captured each scene as if you were the menace dentist (smile). I love my teeth, yet, I am not quite thrilled to visit my dentist! Great Job! God bless you!

Bien Gracias mi Amiga. May his light fill your life each day! Paul

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
