Weathering the NJ-NY Storms
Seen it from the ground, the sea and the air
weather more foul when July should be fair
out on the golf course the rain made some grump
out to sea in swells but some sea bass did thump
then flying to Rochester and back in a puddle jumper jump jump
up and down in the air the planes thumpity thump did bump
still to arrive safely back late... my stomach an empty sump
no good left overs in the refrigerator or a quick meal to prepare
in the back of the freezer a pint of Hagen Das caught my stare
could I, should I, would I? not fearing addition to my rump
chocolate sugar plum faireis pulled me out of my slump
even sugary refined energy could not prevent snore-genery
when my head finally settled on a soft pillow plump
