    Smile

                                          As long as we smile...
    A smile has many meaning. A smile has many explanations. A smile has many disguises.
    I paint my face with a smile to hide the pain. I wear a mask with a smile to hide the shame. I laugh with a smile to hide my insides scream.
     I smile to run from reality. I see a smile and wonder, Am I the only one in pain?
    With my smile painted on, its easy to be someone strange. My smile lets me run to be someone else. My smile gives that invisible band-aid.
    My soul is aching, my blood pooling beneathe me and my fear has driven me insane.
    As long as I smile, noone will know. My smile isnt always just a smile. But, How will you know?

    Sometimes the sharpest weapon we wield is a smile; honed and imbued with stealthy purpose, carried within reach to fend off the beasts of discontent and malady. Though I wonder, does such a smile worn as armor hide pain, or the beauty of truth...or the beauty within? At any rate, it gives you extraordinary poetic talent. 10.

    Thank you, I've learned throughout my life that even the deepest of cuts can be hidden. You can hide from "yourself", but remember the people closest to you, can genuinely tell your full of crap. I guess it all depends on how much you really wanna be someone else.. I don't hide behind dope anymore, my smiles the best I got...

    a smile flows on ones face with no thought, a frown requires a cognitive thought, and many more muscles to form, enjoyable to read

    True, but have you ever caught yourself in a situation, no matter what you did you truly had to think to keep a cheerful face? Thanks for your kind words...
