The Last Time She Played
She played outside one afternoon
Like she had many times before
A bubbly and happy four year old
Such a beautiful little girl
She loved to play, she loved to run
She especially loved to hide
But no one knew this particular day
Would be the day that everyone cried
A car screamed out of nowhere
It struck her do very hard
Her little body hurt so badly
As she was thrown across the yard
She screamed in pain so horribly
Tears flowed down her face
Her mommy ran over and held her
In mommy's arms, she knew God's grace
She held her mommy's hand
All she knew was horrible pain
Then mommy felt her grip loosening
Her baby was slipping away
She tried to keep her conscious
She just wanted her baby to survive
But her battered little body couldn't take anymore
And in her mommy's arms...she died
Her mommy screamed NO!! over and over again
Don't take my baby away!!
She's my happy little lady
She just wanted to go out and play
She'll never hug her mommy again
Or drive her big sister nuts
She'll never learn to ride a bike
Or go to school on a bus
She'll never say "I love you"
Or kiss her mommy goodnight
But she'll be looking down from Heaven
Where she can play all day and night.
