You Never Know What's Coming Next
Sometimes when I sit down to write
I simply start typing
Letting my mind take flight
Sometimes I'll have an idea in my head
Other times I haven't formed any yet
It means a lot to me that people like my poetry
I wish I could get to know all of you
As you feel like friends:)
Friendships come and friendships go
But the friends that stay are truly gold
I have indeed met friends like that on here
Like the Wordplay Mistress and
That sweet little Angel(hello)
One thing I have learned in life
Is that life is not always blissful
There are times of great strife
But with the help of the good Lord above
Strife will never take hold
Will never fit like a glove
I always try to find good things to write about
The dark poetry of last spring
Is not always something I'm proud of
But some were written in a darker time
When the light around me
Did not seem to shine as brightly as before
And through many tears I healed my soul
So now my poetry is of a more positive light
(Well, mostly I can't stop writing about vampires:P)
I am so grateful to all who read my work
And those that leave feedback
I give you a *hug*
As is brings a little pleasure into my life
To have people that like to read the musings of my mind
I know you're probably wondering why I keep rambling on
And to tell you the truth, I just can't seem to stop:P
Writing has gotten into my blood, into my soul
And if not for one woman, I never would have started writing poetry.
So even though she hates me now
I would like to take a moment to thank her
From the bottom of my heart
For the gift she unleashed in me
I think was a start
Of a new take on life
And if not for her
I never would have sat down
At this keyboard and wrote
The first of 21 poems
That I wrote just for her:
"Love From Afar"
As you now lay your head to rest
I think about what I love best
About the lady that you are
Loving me, from oh so far
Your tender kiss, your loving touch
Yes, it's these I crave so much
To feel them both as I close my eyes
Would make me feel like I can fly
I've never known a woman like you
Who always turns the sky to blue
All I can promise is you'll have my love
Until we're both in Heaven above.
Thank you, T______, for all you did for me.
