To Let Go

    To Let Go

    In absence of love
    May pain pull me apart
I could not feel this way
If I had not loved from the start

    Oh this shattered heart
    Still contains a tattered soul
And without the love I had
    Could I still feel whole?

    Pain conspiring hate
    To mask such torments within
    Letting go is frustrating
If one wishes not to begin

    To forget such happiness
To let go of memories of better times
When of anything if nothing else
The best and worst of you were mine

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
