around my part of town

bullets flying all around
young black people are dying in my part of town
when I hear bullets
I jump from my seat
Sometimes it bothers me, while I'm trying to sleep
It's the same old cliche
The brothers aren't listening to what you have to say
The devil whispers he killed your homey
Why don't you take him out (kill) for me
There he is standing right there
After you shoot him, don't give a care
That's the attitude most seem to have
They run around the corner and have a laugh
And say killing him was like taking out the trash
They leave a mother crying
Because her son is dying
That's how it is and I'm not lying
They should be sick and tired
Of doing what the devil desires
Because he just wants their souls in ETERNAL FIRE

I've never lived in this type of environment but I know it does exist. I like the spiritual message behind your writings.

So true and once again this a good poem. These gangstas around here need to stop. I remember i wrote a poem called Stop and it had something to do with what you are saying i think. Keep on writing and spreading the good positive message to all.

It is how it is thsnk you for expressing it so well

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
