Drunken Truths

Drunken Truths

Kisses of cider and staggered words,
True only when we're brave enough to say them.
No sunshine to spoil this night,
Hold my hand and walk me through suburbia.
Colour me sober with too much tenderness,
We won't admit it was real in the morning.
Run eyeliner and sweat from the stage makes a setting for romance,
I'll write the song for you regardless I already called your card.
It managed to outlive us both,
But remains to keep me alive in the night.
Admit to it and stay oblivious...
I destroyed it the moment I looked away.
