Poem Commentary

the worst moment of my life...., but I survived. Than you Lord....

Gunshots

Gunshots
That's what I heard
But it was like no one said a word
Like they all know we were about to be served
That night the sound of death was heard
They did a terrible deed for a bad cause indeed
LORD why do people feel that need?
Or feel as though they have control over the world
LORD, they robbed me of the happiness I had nicely put away
In a matter of seconds I realized things were never going to be the same
I hate living in this world now I just wait
My thoughts just swirl around my head as I lay in bed
I know the LORD has things under control
He's never wrong
He's the one that decides if my life will be long
Why do people try to act like GOD?
Their mind is full of fog
LORD, clear my mind of devilish thoughts
I don't ever want to be responsible for the tears of someones family
Cause that night LORD there was a horrible tragedy
LORD, I know you know who did this
Tell him that;
My kids needed their Daddy desperately.
You took their daddy away from them
What you did was cowardly.
I can't explain why you would do such a thing
If I would of done what you did
I could not live with myself
So how could you manage to even look at yourself?
I forgive you for what you did
Because ahead lay a dark destiny.
Tortured by the demons you will be.
Now I just wait for GOD to grant justice for me.

If I'm reading this correctly: you lost your husband. A tragedy of epic proportions, I am so sorry. You told it quite well and with a clarity of perception for the many aspects involved. Well told with fervor and emergence of emotion. Thank you for what must have been very difficult to write

Yes it was but you know just like Job God got me through, he is the only one I have to thank for my sanity and turning a tragedy into a positive by sharing my testimony with the world that we should also be thankfull in the bad times as well. Glory to God for saving mine and my children's lives.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
