    Poem Commentary

"And let the peace of God rule in your heart, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful" Colossians 3:15

    Peace like a river

The place in which I reside
    must have one thing
the peace of the Lord inside
A place where my flesh and my spirit dwell
    outside evil can run wild
but my place is where I can run and hide
it is my shelter from all bad weather
at night my dreams are sweet

in my place I feel mellow and relaxed
whether it is a messy or clean
    my place still feels serene
it feels like there is a river right next to my door
and the sound of the water
makes my thoughts run out like a stream
in my place my ideas are born and start to grow
    then unfold
cause my house is not a house
it is the place I call home

jadedoll: Jesus, like me, would love this poem. I got a warm feeling in my heart after reading it. Thank you! Charles

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
