    him

    with each breath
    we wait
    for anything to go wrong
and we cling to each other with-
    trembling hearts
    minutes go by
    and silence
    we gasp for clarity
    we search for answers
    we hold tighter and tighter
    as our hearts beat faster
    and faster
    we sigh and we stop
and we fall and we fall

    together we fall
    as silence unravels our minds
    and traps us in time

i wish i could praise this poem without using words, because my words most surely will fall short.......

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
