On Your 35th Birthday (For My Husband)

Poem Commentary

I wrote this today for my sweet husband Johnny on his birthday.

On Your 35th Birthday (For My Husband)

I love how you hold me...
With a firm, yet gentle touch...
Like you don't want to let me go.....
              While encouraging me to fly...

Your warm eyes speak to my soul...
              Your undying love and desire...
Your wild, untameable passion for only me...
Your willingness for me to be myself...

Your hands caress me tenderly...
Gliding over my skin like soft silk...
You drive me wild with only a look...
But, your touch, sends me in to beautiful oblivion...

I now think back over our years together...
Only to realize that this year...
On your thirty-fifth birthday...
That I love you more than I did on my first with you...

Hold me... Look at me... Touch me...

Feel me... My passion for you... Drive me wild...

I love you... Only you... Forever...

so sweet I'm sure he'll love it, happy birthday to him

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
