    Sometimes

    Somewhere in the dark
    recesses of my heart
I had hoped that when I
    finally told you
    I love you
you'd say you felt the same.

    Sometimes--
    we hope in vain.

I know you love me, and
your love is as strong as
the steel bars I place across my mouth
to hold back the words I know
    you don't really want to hear;
as strong as a tree that has grown
    wise beside the river
    for a thousand years:
a tree whose limbs do not bear
    the sweet fruit of
    LOVE
    but the bitter fruit of
    INDIFFERENCE
with seeds of doubt so large
they choke me when I try to spit them out.
    You tell me
    "maybe someday"
    but somehow
    "someday" never comes.
How long must I wait before
my heart allows me to move on?
    Forever
    seems too long yet
    I'd wait if I knew
    that on my last day
    you'd kiss me
with love in your mouth and
    on your breath,
    in your eyes and
beneath the flesh of your fingertips.

    Sometimes--
    we wait in vain.

This friendship I love so much,
    this gentle heart I hold...
a love as true as the boldest rose,
    whose thorns cut deep but
    leave no trail of blood;
    whose petals never fade, only
darken to a shade of red so
    deep it is nearly black.
A love as old as time,
    unmeasured by the passing of seasons;
    something I've know so long
    I can't remember
    when it didn't exist.
    I
    love
    you
    bigger
    than
    the
    sky.

    Someimes--
    we love in vain.

Hello Hollow Girl, This is BigDaddyCash. Your written word has poetic charm however your content is that of an injured ego, injured by a mate or a lover. Yours is the women’s thoughts toward a man’s betrayal. I just wrote a song a few minutes ago that puts the shoe on the other foot, it's copied and ready to paste on another site. Hell it's apropos, so I'll just paste it here and see what your response is; When love is blind you shall not see That me and you are the epitome With the touch of the wand I’ll open your eyes to the blues in my song. Mr. Bartender pour me another beer While I write the music for my lover to hear. The music is easy but the lyrics bring up a tear. Words of the blues that need to be sincere. I can play the jukebox and listen to sad, sad songs. But my blues just keep lingering on and on. Mr. bartender, how would you put your blues in a song. It’s hard when you are crying inside to put words where they belong. Please Mr. Bartender turn the lights down low I’m crying now and I don’t want anyone to know. I thought I could hold make the tears for another verse But words put into blues are cupids curse. Pour me another beer with a shot of whisky My minds a blur and my eyes are misty I’ve heard lonesome love songs that make me cry. Put my sorrows in a shot glass and listen to you lie’ My lovers gone now to my great sorrow. So I’ll finish this damn song tomorrow.

Sorry I should have edited it before I copied it to paste. I have a couple typos and a lost word but I think you'll get the point

Sometimes we do. Its those sometimes that hurt the most. This, this is poetry right here. Amazing work my friend.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
