The pain of happiness

Anguishing Happiness

Feeling the anguish of losing another.
The antagonizing pain of never being able to see them again.
Never knowing if you'll see tomorrow.
It makes me wonder if life just wilts away like the flowers he gives.
I know we'll love each other forever.
But are we really promised a lifetime?
When I look at the midnight sky and ask these questions,
It makes me remember all the great things that have happened.
I see the bright stars above me and it reminds me of the one that is in my heart and soul.
And no matter if my life wilts away or not.
My love for him will be like history.
We've shared so much and yet still have so many more memories to make.
We'll always remember those anguish filled days.
And the happy days that paved the way to our future.
He's the one I love and the one that holds the key to my heart.
And we'll never stop this anguish filled happiness.

A concise and meloncholy piece. I think i prefer rhyme but I must say a healthy pespective on loss and disappointment. I connected with my own loss, and empathized with you and yours.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
