Poem Commentary

The darkness of the past paths we've taken

Past Darkness

As we walk into the darkness,
Ours most feared nightmares challenges our hearts.
With each scream of our past,
The beats become slower.
Our souls disperse as we hear words of failure.
We close our eyes and remember all the times you killed our dreams.
As we grow up we close the very heart you trampled on.
Afraid to let anyone in, we build our walls higher.
We'll never know the true love of another.
This is what you call growing up.
Filled with fears,hesitation, and rejection.
You've rejected us as your own.
Now we feign ignorance to your existence.
We've chosen another to replace the love you wouldn't give us.
They've broken down those walls and fixed our hearts.
They've wiped away the past darkness you created.

Very good and inspirational. and all true to life. Especialy the walls we all put up around ourselves to sheild us. some of us just need to atke a chance right? Good Writing

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
