Empty Crowds

Empty Crowds

Do you ever feel the loneliness of a crowd?
Like no matter how many people there are beside you, You're still all alone?
You feel the distance, the silence, and the cold.
All growing inside you.
Like there was never anyone there at all.
Your conversations are full of gossip and meaningless confessions.
Yet still your words are empty.
You're surrounded by ignorant fools.
Day by day you see the emptiness growing.
Wishing you could fill it with the worthiness of love.
No matter how many people you bring around you.
They will never fill your heart.
They are just crowds of people.
Empty crowds full of empty people.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
