    Poem Commentary

    I was playing with an elemental theme, and I got two poems, each highly based on the other. This one's sister poem is 'Gifts Of The Elements.'

    Elemental Retribution

     We build upon the earth
    And create from it's gifts
    Do we truly not realize
    That we make great rifts?

    We drink from the water
    And grow with its life
    Is it possible to not know
    You're harmed by our strife?

    We breathe in the air
    And sail through it's skies
    Can we really be unaware
    We're dirtying this prize?

    We depend on the fire
    And we need it always
    It will be you alone
    Who makes sure man pays...

    I wonder if it is coinsicidence that most of the elements seem to represent an emotion? Maybe just my imagination. Life seems to have hidden innuendos at times. Well written piece on these 4 shades of life. Maybe they compose the earth's harmony in some secret way... ?
