    Ivory Mask

     Ivory masked,
    But of ebony heart
    Unknown to all;
    Even to the bearers mind,
    As hell grows,
    And heaven weeps,
    The angel’s tears
    Feed the devils fire
    The pain surges
    The sadness lingers
    As joy fades away.
    ‘Tis not dark,
    As all legend says
    But instead,
    Is burning hate,
    Loathing not the world
    Not another,
    But yourself
    Unto the deepest
    Respite within your soul
    The eternal loathing
    Of loves failing heart.

    This is so good, so lyrical, you want to read more. While I no longer find thoughts of despair and darkness my favorite choice of subject matter this was indeed intriquing another 10
