Siren

Take a good look
at what you created
with those hidden caresses
stealing any shred of innocence

Men adore what I can do
paying high prices to participate
in those games you taught
during those darkest hours of night

I have profited greatly
from my shame and degradation
my reward knows no end
at the hands of those just like you

I understand... and I really feel your pain...

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
