    Feast For the Feathered

     A snowbank dining table
    Spread for all feathered
    oft visited by many
    hungry and weathered

    A ground-feeder smorgasbord 
    scattered all around
    shiny black sunflower seeds
    cracked corn on the ground

    Like Thanksgiving Dinner
    free for all today
    from the tiniest Sparrow
    to the bully Blue Jay

    Earthy - you have perfectly depicted the birdfeeder outside my mother's window. You certainly have a way with words and I love your dedication to nature. Great job! :) Ken

    I've scattered seeds for the birds to feast upon, and I was surprised by the flocking of such.....they seemed to come from the recesses of branch and bramble. A lovely poem by you, earthly..................g
