Through Tear Stained Eyes

Through Tear Stained Eyes

We watched as planes invaded
the one time peaceful skies,
And hit their chosen target,
Through sadly tear stained eyes.
The horror of the moment
Was beyond our own belief,
As it left so many people
With heartaches and grief.
So many people met their fate
On that warm September day,
Yet the whole world came together
In a very special way.
We all became united
Young, old, black and white,
Helping one another
In the recovery fight.
It also brought us closer
To GOD - each in his way.
To ask for peace and healing,
As we bowed our head to pray.
For GOD in all his wisdow
Has taught us to be wise,
And turn to Him for comfort
To dry our tear stained eyes.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
