Waiting For Time
the night dawns outside the window
i contemplate things i already know
i stare at the clock, it moves too slow
when was it i let my heart go?
the night goes on, thoughts swim my head
maybe i should have tried something else instead.
my eyes stay open when i lay in bed
you ask for blood, but i've already bled.
the sun will bring new time tomorrow
sunshine bandaids for my soul of sorrow
you gave away what you only had to borrow
i keep having to tell myself things
i should already know.
