    Poem Commentary

    For those that are innocent and lost in the madness of war, never safe always dying piece by piece. How armies with a single soldier can devastate a family who did nothing, all on the order of some higher, not present being.

    An innocent in war

     Do you hear the trumpets
    Singing down the road?
    Their melancoly music
    Drifting through the air
    Tha march of a thousand feet
    Shaking the ground below

    I'm sitting in the darkness
    Wondering if your friend or foe
    You speak in tongues I cannot know
    So I hold my babies close
    And pray the night to end

    All we're looking for is a light
    Shining through this shadow
    The only colour piercing through
    Is the red of my blood

    I've already lost too much to carry on
    But still you pounding growns on
    I ask to the heavens I believe in
    How can this be so
    Do we really reep what other sow?
