    The lovely flower.

a seed fell as a tear
to the ground fertile with fear
    i watered it most everyday
with doubt in the mist i spray
    worries sprouted from the seed
    obsessively with thoughts i feed
    soon a plant has formed
    with tender buds adorned
    as the seed continues growing
    my mind is always knowing
that the sun can only nourish
    with darkness life won’t flourish
    worry creates toxic muds
    poisoning the delicate buds
in hopes the poison will not spread
    i bury my secret dread
as i watch the flower bloom
even the plant can sense the doom
    its hopes and petals wilted
head hung like a lover jilted
    self prophecy created a death
the flower had taken its last breath
    by living the darker side
    the lovely flower died

Girl, you have the gift, this is one that now is buried by number because it was one of the first that you posted however it needs to be viewed by more. I like it - it has many meanings and I too can appreciate the metaphor of a flower to the delicacies of life. Great write!

A great poem, on how fragile Life is or can be. The clarity of your imagary, was like watching your poem, arise....bloom...die. You have a very awesome style of writting. Thanks for sharing.

Oh that is so true.We are like that arent we.When we choose to feed off negativity we just turn ugly and wilt. This is so insightful.Well written.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
