    Poem Commentary

    My final words to him to let go. I know we are done for more reasons than one. He is with someone new, but even if he wasn't our love was not meanto to be. No more hurt because I have hurt enough. Just acceptance and the strength to walk away:)

    Final Words

    I loved you,
    But we can't be together after what we have been through,
    You think I never been where you have been,
    I was in love with someone who I shouldn’t have been,
    I could never forgive myself for breaking up his family,
    Like you at that time I was not thinking practically,
    The guilt and shame of it haunted me every day,
    That is why I have to choose for you to go another way,
    I never thought it was right for you to be with me,
    I am sorry I couldn't make this be,
    The words and actions I had chosen sealed our fate,
    We can't save us now, it is to late
    It would be wrong for you to be with me,
    I have to set you free,
    You can’t change what is black,
    And you can never go back.

    Been there and done that and it was painful. We were both married to someone else, and that never ends well. It is hard, very hard to let go when you know there is no other choice. The love remains, but the pain may never go away. Beautifully written as always.

    Very touching and sad. Life is learned through our mistakes. The bittersweet lesson will stand you in good stead as you go through life. Better to have loved, learned and lost than not learned at all.

    Wasted love and wasted tears, Wasted days and wasted years.....Although your heart seemed it would break....Wasted love has left you....Not to make a new mistake....
