                                        Called by a derogatory names
                                           Because my skin is black
                                  Knowing all men are created the same 
                                            How uncivilized is that 

                                                 To raid lands 
                                      Taking people against their will
                                      Did it make you feel like a man
                                          Seeing all the blood spill

                                           Whips cracking the air
                                       Chains dragging the ground
                                Off into darkness they stared unaware
                                  Of the future they were now bound

                                               Made into slaves
                                       To do masters will when told
                                            Still fighting so brave
                                         Beaten and left in the cold

                                    All the while you learned from them
                                            So how can one figure
                                       That your skin is better blend
                                       That you can call me a nigger

                                                When in the past
                                      So many died just for a change
                                                   And so I ask
                                        Has any progress been made
