    Once Known

                                            Silence fills the room
                                         A heart now gone cold
                                      A darkness filled with gloom
                                      Heart ache attacks the soul

                                              Ceiling fan spins 
                                         The mind twirls as fast 
                                      Another loss to tally no wins 
                                        Why is the question asked

                                            Rivers of tears flow
                                       Agonizing pains in the heart 
                               Grasping tighter and tighter on the pillow 
                                     Wondering how it all fell apart 

                                           Thoughts of giving up
                                   In what you once strongly believed 
                                          An open door now shut 
                                 From insecurities handed and received  

                                               Calling for God 
                                          Please father help me  
                                             Why is it so hard 
                                        I now feel shallowly empty 

                                            The love once known 
                                           Has shown not to exist 
                                     All that was thought to be grown 
                                      Is now a dream of foggy mist
