    Sweet Innocence

     

    Seems like only yesterday

    Our children oh so small

    They loved to play

    Dressing up, putting on shows

    Getting dirty, wearing out clothes

    Riding horses, feeding goats

    Building forts, making jumps

    Racing bikes, playing in snow

    Enjoying birthday parties

    So much fun

    Years flew bye

    Where did time go?

    Those were the days

    Of sweet innocence

    Days of long ago

    Now they are grown

    All left home

    Living lives on their own

    Ms. Eaton, you speak nostalgically for all loving parents who have to accept that their children was lent to them and submitted to their parental ;love and care by our Almighty an Heavenly Father. We must, ";Love them, grow them and let them go," Innocence ought to be a glorious part of the journey of life for both parent and child. My rating for theme development and versification is10x10. The cosmetics and vocal rendition of this poem could improve, however with stanza aarrangement and punctuation. Verse composition, (except for lack of punctuation) is perfect.

    Yes, living lives on their on but leaving as much behind as they take with them.... Sweet Memories! Thank you a million for the memories that you brought back to me and now as I watch my 15 year old daughter grow up, it both scares and delights me... Sweet Innocence in this piece! 10
