    Poem Commentary

    For my brother.

    -That Guy-

    That guy who protects, respects and stands up for me, no matter what.
    That guy who I can call when I am falling apart, or just when I want to chat.
    That guy I know will always have my back, weather he agrees with my decisions or not.
    That guy I can get advice from and trust that it has my best interest in mind.
    That guy who catches me when I am falling and grabs my hand to help me stand up straight again.
    That guy who would give his life in a heart beat for me
    and my kids.
    That guy who would take care of my kids if I were to leave this earth too soon.
    That guy I will love whole-heartedly till the day I 
    die and beyond.

    That guy, that one and only guy;
    my big brother.

    We should all have a big brother like that. I have two big brothers, but I can't rely on them like you do yours. In fact, the only person I can rely on to talk to and not judge is my therapist, and he gets paid just to listen to me. So you know where I'm coming from. Nice poem. I'll be reading more of yours in the future. Feel free to read and comment about mine. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful brother with t he rest of us, it gives us all hope. Family is where you should find love and support, but unfortunately some families are messed up and don't give it.

    Mom, this is a very nice tribute to the relationship that you have with your big brother. I am the big brother, and so I can relate to all that you have stated about him. Big brother's will always be there for their siblings. At least I will, and it looks like yours will, as well. Great write. I really enjoyed. Thanks for sharing. 10 from a big brother.
