His Eyes

Poem Commentary

Jesus can demonstrate hope to us when it seems there is NO WAY to have that most essential emotion....HOPE

His Eyes

His Eyes

They were prob'ly brown
Just like most around
Not so different to behold
These eyes of my Savior, you see
But when there was just sin and shame
They saw potentiality
They looked through all my faults
And saw what I could be

I'm not a queen nor a President
I've never won a Nobel Prize
I'm just an ordinary girl
In the eyes of Man
But I'm worth dying for,
Dear Lord in your Eyes

Now Man will always see the bad
No mater what I do
And people always will criticize
But I'm so glad you know my  heart
And what I'm going through
And I can still look up
And just see love in Your Eyes

They were prob'ly brown
Just like most around
Not so different to behold
....But I can still look up
And just see love in Your Eyes

Devotional and true. To see through his eyes and to understand as he did. He has given you a great talent. As he did me. If every one could see the true our world would be a better place. But through your words others will see. Thanks again.

I so appreciate all comments on my work. Of course some are nearer and dearer to my heart as you can imagine. Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to comment!

Such a wonderful portrayal of the love of Jesus! He is the Master Potter... we are the clay of the field. And yet we are unique vessels, that are shaped on His wheel! I am convinced that as God shapes each of our lives, it is done in total love. We may not like His direction and guiding hands at the time, but if we can just hold out until the end, we will be vessels worthy of His Spirit. Thank you for sharing this delightful poem. 10

You know, the only reason I write poetry or songs is to bless someone or to uplift. But I need to thank YOU for uplifting ME with this comment. It was my "Daily Bread," just now and it truly touched me! Blessing on you & yours. ~~Sandy

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
