    Poem Commentary

    Spring and summer bring to us such amazaingly unique sounds that they are just unmistakable. After reading this poem close you eyes and try to imagine their sounds...especially if you are deep in the dead of winter. Enjoy.

    Knee Deep in June

    Certain it’s out there,
      a sight so rare,
    I saw it once,
      so beautiful and fair.

    I never noticed before,
      t’was you,
    more than just a feeling,
      more than a sky of blue.

    Soft puffy clouds,
      cotton candy, so pink and sweet,
    a field wet from a spring rain,
      bacon and eggs waft, what a treat.

    Sounds inside a park…
      children shout, dogs bark,
    an ice cream truck’s unmistakable tune,
      knee deep in the heat of June.
