    Poem Commentary

    This was a fun challenge, to complete a poem which began with the alliteration of wild and wooly web. Life and relational experiences filled in the rest.

    Wooly Webb

    What a wild and wondrous wooly web she weaved,
       while waiting, as the wolves wondered by…
          beyond the willows, in the weeds.

    Softly sucking on strawberries, sorghum, and sugar plums,
       secretly stalking, erecting her sinister snare…
          laced with satin and sin.

    Making memories, mesmerized, full of melodrama and make-believe,
       moments made into mountains…
          materialized from mere mounds.

    This was......... different. Ummm. Must be good tho' b/c it has Strawberries in it :)

    I believe "hyperbole" is the correct word to describe this poem. It is a play on letters and word sounds. The first stanza is W, second is S, and the third is M. Flow is important, and that is why I stopped, because I didn't want it to get to mundane.

    Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
