Let's Go To The River

Let's Go To The River

Take my hand go with me to the river of shame
There take out your finger and point at me with blame
Reach into your pockets and draw out the salt
Rub it slowly ever deeper into wounds that bleed
For this baptism of fire
I dedicate to you
I know the treacherous currents of this cold river
You see I've died here before
So I'll be your willing guide
I know your scared of water that rages high
So I'm showing you how resurrections done
Be sure and tie the concrete block secure
And laden it heavy about my neck
Don't be frightened this too shall pass
As the substitute goat of sin is driven in
The water drowns the cries as the ego dies
The body is next as it fights for breath
The spirit doesn't even struggle as the rejoicing is started
GodSource divine who listens, protect the ones who brought me here to the depths of the river
Cleanse their heart, mind and hands of every speck of murder
They were heavy laden and knew not the way
Into loves resurrection
Honored, I am honored to transmute it for them
That they may be free
From the things that suck out life
That drain their blood free of heart
Indeed not a sacrifice rather a pleasure
To release even one soul to fly
Into open skies
Unleash the miracles as you blow breath back into my body
Now I'm clean of all that was unseen and decaying
Remember when you point a finger
Your asking me to help unload blame
River of shame holds no terror
Miracle of resurrection
I am risen free again to be me
Standing on the bank
Take my hand lets go celebrate
Gods science of being

What a poem. Very lyrical and your tone is nicely consistent..

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
