    the gift

when i think of her it's as if
    i've received a gift
    the excitement and the anticipation
    of her parade
and the life she has made
    come alive in me
i think of those days sunning by the river
    and kisses so deep
she can see into my dreams

I love this. It's short, yet it says so much! I think 'trying your hand at love poetry' is working out well for you! :)

thank you so much ! love your stuff !

Aha! A new poem! And, me thinks, that spring is on the air when the sap starts rising and a young man's fancy turns to love. Long live the days by the river and never relinquish those dreams, my friend! Your poem takes me back there, lo so many, many years ago...

thank you so very much !

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
