Poem Commentary

perception

Ok ! you're right ,

Ok!, you're right .
I am a black widow ,
Without love or flight.

You're right , I am a cheater,
temptation threatens to consume me.
I don't know the true
way to love you .

You are correct .
I have dabled in drugs
Broke the law,
defiant in my own right.

Your right ,
your better than me ,
because your thoughts
aren't bad or released for all to hear.

Your right !!!!
I'm the loose woman ,
the one your mother uses
to prove she is clean.

Your right !!
Let me ease your conscious,
I have told you lies from time to time
it's easier that way.

Your right !!!
I make dumb decisions ,
hang around people,
who don't respect me nor themselves.

YOU ARE RIGHT
I don't deserve
to be respected
i don't deserve the smile i force
nor do i deserve the truth ...

Your always right
and that's what makes you
better than me .
that's what makes your word
more true than mine.

Your right !!!
I'm one of those women
who wasn't meant to be a wife.
I'm deserving of your fist , not
a ring .

Your so right
as his sister ,
you knew me better than anyone
else .
and your a better women than me.

Your correct
your pain is more valid
than my own .
I should loose my pedestal
and be left alone.

Your on the mark !!!
when you compare me
to your mother ,
and then talk about me with disgrace
your justified in believing that
your daughter will be just like her
foolish mother.

Your correct
in teaching your children to dislike me
to fear me , and to demonize me .
your right i don't deserve to have friends
people who care for me
or success in my life .

You're right
i played the same games on you
that you played on me.
I took your kindness for weakness,
I took advantage of you .

Your right
I made you sleep with me
i made you lie to me
i made you leave me
i made you father my children
i made you stand on those corners
i made you offer me dangerous drugs
I made you turn your back on your love ones for me
I created the dysfunction in your family
I didn't give you a fair opportunity to love me and
be apart of my life .
I didn't try to talk to you .

Your right
I told the whole world your personal business
I embarrassed you at your job , home , everywhere you went
I disrespected your mother , and respected my mother
You went to my father and did things in a honorable way .
Your right
i didn't try to make things right with you

Your right , your always right, because
to threaten what you believe in
is too much for your fear to accept,
you can't handle being in the wrong,
it's why have to sing the (blame) song
this is why i'm always wrong
denial isn't a solution
fear doesnt make good changes
seems as if you need me to blame
you need me to take the shame
you need me to be the bad one
you need me to be ...

Excellent write! This poem is about perception. Just because someone perceives something in a certain way does not mean it is correct. It is just that a viewpoint. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Great emotion, reflection, and self deprecating tone...............E

thank you ... your the first to read .. glad you like . and stopped by @@

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
