Your Song of Home
Call me through whispers,
Through prayers all unspoken
Plead through the course of tears
Of a heart- - beating broken.
Call me through practised smile,
Hiding your sorrow,
That shadow of yesterday,
That looms o’er tomorrow.
Wait in your silent room,
Wait with your friends,
Fate that once robbed from you,
Shall soon make amends.
Call me through whispers,
Venture your voice,
Pray for your favorite tune,
Crooned at your choice.
For it is then I shall sing you,
And it is there I shall bring you,
Like a bird it shall wing you,
Away, love, away.
Away, far over dark waters,
Where storms wave-drive the deep,
Away to bright mountain tops,
Their vistas to keep.
Away from the vagabonds,
That eternally roam,
Conveyed to that secret place
That your heart calls home.
Then, call me through whispers,
And ache till you sigh,
For soon I shall sing for you,
Your song, ere I die.
