  • I've been gone for quit some time but I'm back and ready to write more poetry.

Poem Commentary

I wrote this because what I see is that we took God out of our schools and even out Christmas and without God in our country what do we have to believe in anymore, and I would still like to believe that there is hope!!!

I Need Something To Believe In

Lately I've found myself lost,
I really dont know what I am looking for,
I find myself wondering around,
Everything is black with no color.
I need, I need........
I need something to believe in.

I use to believe that,
There was still good in this world,
But now I cant even
Watch the news at night,
There is to much stuff
That makes me cry!
So I need, I need

I despratly need something to believe in.

It seems to me that so many have
Truned away from the grace of God,
Without God our grand country will FALL!!!
We bow our heads in public and we get into trouble,
Our children arent allowed to say our pledge
Just because our governerment says,
There has to be seperation between State and church;
So please oh please just give me, give me
Oh please give me something to believe in.

I want to believe that the american people
Will stand and help bring God back into the country.
So please stand with me and give the people and me
SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN AGAIN!!!!

It's a sad hopeless life when there is nothing at all to believe in except the wretchedness we see going on every day. I think this would make a good song. Nice job.

Sounds like you wrote this through a rough spot in your life. I agree, most people don't bring God into their lives... We all need him to get through rough patches like disease and other hard times. I pray every day that more people come to realize this - like you. :D -Nikkie Rae

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
