Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago today we said good-bye
My eyes fill with tears
as I think of your short life
taken away to soon.
I've decided that september no longer excists,
this year this month its been hell
you've been gone for two year today
but thats not all i hope your listening now
grandma is real sick again
a family friend had a nine year old killed
by a jackass that ran a stop sign
and my little girl your cousin no wait your sister
got put in juvie and then the next day
we find that she has cancer,
oh Brad tell me how do i tell my baby girl
that she has the cancer,
the same cancer i have???
I went seven years cancer free
six months ago it came back.
Grandma says believe in God and all is ok,
but will it really be ok??
I dont want to burry another child in this family
I just dont think any of us could servive.
I miss you more and more.......
its two years ago today
that we said good-bye.
I'm talking to you now to say
please watch over us
and please ask God to make Geni better
your there in heaven and maybe just maybe
you can help take away my pain.
two years ago today.......................
We said good-bye!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for voicing my thoughts. I have lost both grandmothers and a very good friend this year, all within six months. Just as I start getting over one loss, another keeps popping up. Through them all though I have not lost faith, God has control and if he takes those who are sick, it is for the better. And they are now free, from pain, sickness and confusion. Blessings on you, I'll be praying.

I am so sorry for your many losses and hardships. It is very difficult when life deals us so many blows in such a short time. You and your family are in my prayers. Keep your head up & keep the faith. Keep writing. It helps to get things out of you and onto paper.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
