It's All For Something

Keep the light on--hate the dark;
Use your make-up--hide that mark.
Explode in fury--against the grain;
Close your eyes--feel the pain.
Load a gun--end the hurt;
Set it down--could be worse.
Pick the scabs--watch them bleed;
When it's over--kill the greed.
Break your glasses--want to see;
Rip the contracts--to be free.
Run away--break the rules;
In the end--life's been cruel.
Pressures mounting--lose control;
Hold on tightly--don't let go.

Damn. Why is it when poems have powerful wording I start reading them faster.... This is very well written...

Wow, you are soooo good. You just seem to have a ntaural talent for rhyme. It is so abstract but it fits together perfectly. It is really funny because I saw your name on the list and I was like, "that is a really pretty name, I bet she is a great poet." lol. But I was totally right. You are amazingly talented. Better than alot of published poets that I have seen. Keep writing, please

Thank you dearly, I do try to be the best writer I can be, actively making an effort for improvement. :] And I know, I love my name; my cousin [and bff] came up with the name for me. Oh, and I'm a guy lol. :)

Wow. This was really strong. I can relate somehow too, not through experience or memory but something...Not sure what. This was really great. ♥

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
