Poem Commentary

[First submitted poem, tell me what you think! ;P]

Piece By Piece

Hold me tight and just let go,
With every sigh you let me know
That in the end you've never cared
And in the end life's never fair,
So fall into endings...

Over and over until we're all just begging,
Crawling in the dirt we're self-defending
The life we always thought we wanted,
Now and again it seems we're running
But the truth is it was all for nothing...

I'm done wasting my time on hopeless wishes,
You don't know just what you're missing,
But I don't care...Life's not that fair...

Over and over the messages replay
And I'm moving on without delay,
In time I'll find my own way home,
The means and methods begin to take hold
But beyond the surface it's not what it seems,
Inside I'm broken from dying dreams,
At night I try to reassemble...

Picking up life
P I E C E  B Y  P I E C E,
In the morning
The pain will cease,
Then I'll get up--
I'll find my way--
I'm moving onto
Another day...

Wow, Thank you for a message in deed. Reminded me to take One Day at a Time. Love and Light, Kelly

Another Nice Job FF! :) I like the emotions you convey in this piece. It is sometimes difficult to get your point across in poetry without losing context and flow .. But you managed to do this nicely! :) Nice work - keep on writing! :) Ken

During youth we gather the stones that become the foundations of our life. And we do move on and up and into another day. That's how we survive the weight of those stones. I know folks older than you who haven't figured that out yet. Nicely done.

I think we all have this poem lurking around in our minds, struggling to escape. Letting go and moving on is that part of life, Though unwanted, we have to experience. I wrote two, No Longer and Picking Up The Pieces. Good write, TS

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
