    Poem Commentary

    So, I'm sort of confused. For all of my poems I say "No, I would NOT like them entered into your weekly contest," and check the "no." Yet almost all of my pieces are listed as being in a weekly contest. :/

    Springtime Explosion

     My hands contracted,
    fingers like withering petals.
    They folded inward,
    shrinking away from an infinite world.
    The first snowfall
    has just touched virgin soil,
    dirt's eyes opened
    to that most smothering thing;
    Dirt must now learn
    to take these in stride:
    gifts without reason,
    snow snatching pride.
    . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
    Snow glazes and covers,
    flowers crystallized.
    Frozen flowers always seem
    to be most precious,
    perfectly preserved,
    but their petals want to wilt,
    their petals want to burst...
    kept under for so long,
    kept waiting for too long...
